Troubleshooting A Slow Website

Why is my website so slow?

A slow website can indeed be frustrating, but there are many ways to see what causes this. At Xhuma Connect we do NOT overload our servers and ensure that everyone has the resources they sign up for. Sometimes, you might need to upgrade to a package with better resources if your website is a bit too resource-intensive, but first, we need to see what is causing the slow speeds, below are some tools you can use:

A great site to use is https://gtmetrix.com/

speedtests

Once you open the site, enter your website, for example, https://google.com and click on test your site.

This gives you some insights on what is causing the slow speed, and what changes you can make, to increase the speeds.

Please note: This does tests from International servers, so it will show a number that is "slower" than what local connections would load.

For example. clicking on "Minimize redirects" as on image below, will display this, basically explaining what needs to be done.

There are many such tools available such as :

https://gtmetrix.com

https://tools.pingdom.com/

https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/

https://www.webpagetest.org/

Many more are available online, but these should get the job done.

This should help you in identifying the reason why the speed of your website is slow, and also give you the steps on improving the loading time of the site.

As always, if you require any assistance, please do contact us on support@xhumaconnect.com
