How To FTP/Upload Your Website
There are many different programs you can use to FTP your site. This tutorial is using Filezilla:
- Open/Download Filezilla https://filezilla-project.org/
- Where is says 'Address' put your full domain name - eg: amplehosting.co.za
- Where it says 'Username' and 'Password' - you put in the username and password that you were sent when you first signed up.
- Where is says 'Port' - leave this out and just click on "Quickconnect" (the port will automatically get filled in for you).
- Then once you are successfully logged in, you will see on the left-hand side all your files for your site and on the right-hand side list of folders. Go to the right-hand side and open up the folder - 'public_html' (must upload your site in this folder).
- Go to your files on the left-hand side, place your mouse over the file, left-click your mouse hold down and drag the file to the right-hand side. Keep doing this until all your files have been moved.
Your site is now successfully uploaded and you will be able to go and view it on the Internet.
